On Sunday, the Duke of Edinburgh visited Livigno Snow Park to watch Team GB's Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale secure victory in the Mixed Team Snowboard Cross Big Final. Their win marked a historic milestone — Great Britain's first-ever gold medal on snow at a Winter Olympics.
As Patron of GB Snowsport, Edward had a front-row view of the thrilling race. After the final run, he personally congratulated the newly crowned champions and joined them for celebratory photos, including a cheerful selfie to mark the achievement.
A Busy Olympic Schedule
Since arriving in Italy on February 13, Prince Edward has maintained a packed schedule. On Saturday, he attended ice hockey matches at Santagiulia Arena, where he spoke with players and officials.
He also visited the charity association Laureus “L’Amico Charly,” spending time with young people supported by the organization and even joining in for a friendly table tennis rally.
The Duke’s presence at the Games highlights his ongoing support for British athletes — continuing a strong royal tradition of championing sport on the international stage.
